Aiming the holistic development of the child, MGWS, Bulandshahr has introduced the system of regular assessment of scholastic and co-scholastic domain of the development of the child. The term scholastic refers to those aspects which are related to the intellect.
CBSE AT GLANCE
It includes the assessment of the learner in the curricular subjects, project work, practical and oral work which include pen paper test/ activities according to a well drafted schedule. Various parameters related to different subjects will be assessed on the basis of artistically designed activities to analyze the entire personality of the child. The assessment shall continue throughout the year.

EVALUATION POLICY
The school is affiliated to CBSE, and CCE guidelines have been implemented from Class Play onwards with a Grading system reflecting Scholastic as well as Co-Scholastic areas in the Report Card. Project work and Oral Testing reflected under separate heads in the Report
Cards bear testimony to our emphasis on self-exploration and presentation skills. A strong academic curriculum is followed with emphasis on experiential learning through planned class activities, audio & visual aids and Multiple Intelligence lesson plans, Modules on the Smart Boards supplement the teaching content in all classrooms from Nursery to XII.
Play: Periodic Test are not held, however at the end of Term-I Written Exam and oral testing is done which further helps in assessing a child and same in Term-II.
Nursery to Class II: The children are assessed on the basis of day-to-day observation, through general discussion. A checklist is also prepared at the end of each term to verify the child’s conceptual understanding. The report cards of the children are based on the assessment and evaluation are done on the basis of Weekly Tests, Oral Testing as well as
Six formal examinations, three in each Term.
Classes III to VIII: The report cards of the children are based on the assessment / evaluation done on the basis of Weekly Tests, Oral Testing, Projects as well as Six formal examinations, three in each Term.
Classes IX to XII: The report cards of the children are based on the assessment / evaluation done on the basis of Weekly Tests, Oral Testing, Projects as well as Six formal examinations, three in each Term.

Weekly tests- For Classes III to XII, are held in rotation for all subjects.
Periodic Tests- Four Periodic tests are held in both Term-I and Term-II two in each Term are held for classes Nursery-XII.

PROMOTION POLICY FOR ALL STUDENTS
- Student has to secure 40% marks in each subject and in aggregate to be promoted to the next class.
- Moreover, a student has to secure minimum 40% marks in Theory and Practical separately in the subject involving practical examination.
- A candidate failing in one of the five subjects of Annual examination shall be given in compartment in the Subject.
- As per the CBSE guidelines we follow a no-detention policy from classes Play to VIII.
- A candidate of classes IX to XII failing more than one subject will be detained.
- Minimum 75% attendance is required for promotion from classes III and XI .
Handling Cases of Absence in the Assessment-
- Appearing in all exams is Mandatory. In genuine reason of absentees, 60% of marks of secured in either Periodic Test will be awarded.
- It is mandatory to have at least 75% attendance to appear for the Annual Exam.
Nursery – Prep:
If a child is absent on the day of assessment due to any unforeseen circumstance, his/her assessment will be taken on any other alternate day within a week from the day of assessment.
Classes I to XII:
- Re-test in PAs / PTs / UTs /Term Exams is only allowed in case of his/her representation of the school for any MGWS organized event / CBSE event.
- In genuine case of absence during examination like some unforeseen, death/casualty in family/health problem and admission in hospital more than three days or any type of accident than the principal will decide whether the 70% marks of either test will be awarded to the student or not.
- The Medical Certificate in case of Medical Leave should be submitted to school within 3 working days of joining the school along with application from parents.
Policy Regarding Students using unfair means During the Examination-
- If students are caught red-handed using unfair means in class Test / Terminal Examination / Pre-Board Examination, New answer sheet and another questions paper will be given to the students and no extra time will be given to him. Zero marks can be awarded by concern authorities.
- It may be possible that zero marks will be awarded.
A strict letter will be sent by the class teachers to their parents.
